Hey, Preston. I just wanted to thank you for your very informative book, "UFOs Over New York." I am currently writing a book called "Ghosts and Legends of Yonkers" and decided to throw in info about UFOs over Yonkers. Thanks to your book I was able to find some great information for my book. I wanted to thank you for your extensive research from one author to another. By the way, we both have WEEBLY websites that look identical! Great minds think alike!

I wasn't able to verify this particular event, but White Sands is a HUGE magnet for UFO activity, and has been since at least 1947. I know of accounts similar to this. Apparently there were many contacts with ETs and the military and scientists, including onboard experiences and trips like the one you describe. Pretty amazing stuff

Imagine 1962, an 11 year old boy in the suburbs of Pittsburgh, it is in a late summer evening. He plays by himself in a stand of woods at the end of a hilly street. A mother calls the boy from the front porch, "Time to come in." The boy continues playing in the darkening evening. The mother walks into the lightly traveled street, continuing toward the small rise that leads to the wooded area. Neighbors on porches call out there greetings. The boy finally acknowledges the call and turns to head home, Suddenly the world becomes silent, overhead silver disk glides low and slow, a large silver round silent saucer. Not a sound neither natural from crickets, birds or unnatural from the craft. A silence close to death covers the world.

Wow, Larry. That's quite story. Seeing a UFO is amazing enough, but to have this military guy saying it was a balloon when he knows full well that it wasn't--it's enough to boggle the mind. Who are they kidding? One day everybody will know the truth about UFOs. The truth has a way of taking care of itself.
