Preston Dennett UFO and Paranormal Investigator
During the late 70's and early 80's in Crow, Oregon, two neighbors and myself observed large glowing orb. We had been standing and talking at the end of one of our driveways. It was just past dusk. The large "whatever it was", approached towards us from the west. It glowed in the same way the moon does (without that fracturing one sees around the edges of an artificial lamp/bulb). It moved towards us above very tall trees. I think they were Cedars. It moved slowly towards us and then it veered south, down Territorial Highway. Again, it moved slowly and it moved soundlessly. In a car, we followed it, for just under a mile, before it veered left across fenced in pasture land towards a wooded hillside. There it lowered itself behind the trees.
Calls to local airport and police were met with disinterest. We even tried to call the Air Force, but as I recall, were unable to find phone numbers.
There were other "curious" happenings during this same time period. But as I am sure you know. One learns not to share such things. People doubt what they have not witnessed themselves.
A very amazing story! Thank you for sharing
Wow, that sounds like a very interesting sighting. It has many of the elements I've seen in other encounters, the lack of noise, the strange light effects and the way it moved so slowly and at such a low altitude. You know, in my experience, when an object is that low and that close to a witness, it is showing itself on purpose. In other words, I think it knew you were there and was totally aware that you were observing it. And the fact that you were able to follow it adds another dimension to the experience. I'd be interested to hear what some of the other unusual experiences were that went along with it. Either way, thank you for sharing your encounter. Each time one person shares what they've experienced, it gives courage and inspiration to others to share what they've seen. I know Oregon has had a lot of UFO activity. You're certainly not alone!
