Introduction
Welcome to volume three of Not from Here: Selected UFO Articles. If you’ve read the first two volumes, you already know that these books are all about exploring the weirder and more unusual aspects of extraterrestrial contact. Like the other volumes, each chapter is adapted from an article I wrote over the past thirty years of active UFO research.
Again, I followed several rules. For the most part, none of the information from these articles is available in any of my books, or of course in the previous two volumes. I included early works and some brand new ones. All of the chapters have been updated to include new cases and data. I also endeavored to address a wide variety of subjects so that the reader will come away with a broad understanding of the UFO phenomenon. As with the other volumes, each chapter contains a behind the scenes section explaining how the article came to be written. And finally, each chapter presents an original illustration by award-winning illustrator, Christine Kesara Dennett, (my sister-in-law) who has worked closely with me since the beginning of my investigations.
I began researching UFOs in 1986, following a well-publicized sighting over Alaska in mid-November of that year. Prior to that, researching UFOs was the farthest thing from my mind. I did not believe they were real. Thirty-two years later, I have reversed my opinion. I now know that UFOs are real. I have made a lifelong study of this subject. I have seen them myself. I have already written many books on this subject, but I have written even more articles, most of which are rare and hard to find. The Not from Here series of books (and yes, there is a fourth volume coming) is my attempt to make sure that all my research is available.
This third volume presents ten new explorations into various rare and unique aspects of the UFO phenomenon which have received little or no serious attention.
There is a widespread belief in the UFO community and beyond that UFO abductions have almost never been observed by outside witnesses. While abductions may actually be widespread, almost nobody ever sees the aliens doing it. And yet, it does happen. The first chapter, Caught in the Act, explores a growing number of cases in which ETs have been caught in the act of abducting someone. Why are there so few cases of observed abductions? What do these unique cases have to tell us about the ETs?
Seeing a UFO can have unexpected and unfortunate consequences, not necessarily from the UFO itself, but from the reactions of others. Chapter Two, See a UFO--Lose Your Job, presents several accounts in which a wide variety of people have experienced prejudice as a result of going public with their encounters. It might make you think twice about going public with your own UFO encounter.
Where’s the proof? If aliens are real, skeptics ask, why has nobody retrieved an alien artifact? Truthfully there is a glaring lack of hard evidence of extraterrestrial material in the public arena. While eyewitness testimonies, radar returns, photographs, landing traces, electromagnetic effects, medical cases, and more all represent impressive evidence of UFO reality, physical alien artifacts seem to be virtually non-existent. But is this true? Chapter Three, Alien Gifts, is a collection of cases in which people have been given actual gifts by extraterrestrials. These cases reveal a positive aspect of extraterrestrial contact. But as they also show, receiving an alien gift can have unexpected consequences.
Do aliens make mistakes? The answer, of course, is yes! Chapter Four, To Err is Alien, is a study of cases in which ETs have made what appear to be glaring errors. Despite their advanced technology, these accounts show that even aliens might not be totally infallible. Like us, they are not perfect. These cases expose a more human side to the ETs, showing that in some ways, they are not that different from us.
UFO contact comes in many different forms. One of the rarest types is a Ouija board-UFO encounter. Chapter Five asks the question: Can We Contact UFOs with a Ouija Board? As strange as it sounds, there are now several such cases on record. While the Ouija board is usually used to contact spirits and ghosts, these cases show that it can apparently be used to initiate an encounter with a UFO and/or communicate with ETs. These cases also show that there is an interdimensional aspect to UFO encounters that we are only beginning to understand.
UFOs are seen pretty much everywhere on our planet. Yet they are also known for being drawn to certain areas. Reservoirs, mines, nuclear power stations, graveyards, dams, technological installations, and many other specific places are known to attract ETs. Chapter Six, UFOs over Prisons, adds yet another location to the list. Why are ETs attracted to jails? Is it possible that prisoners are being abducted by aliens? This chapter provides some surprising answers.
Some people believe UFOs to be angelic. Others think they’re demonic. The most popular theory is that they are extraterrestrials. Which answer is true? It is well-known that some UFO cases have elements in common with religious miracles. Chapter Seven, Is Jesus an Alien?, explores cases with angelic or heavenly elements, and also some involving a darker type. These types of cases show that the UFO phenomenon has a level of complexity and a breadth of expression that is often unacknowledged even within the UFO community.
A small but growing number of cases in the UFO literature exist in which UFOs and Bigfoot have been seen at the same time. In some weird way, Sasquatch and UFOs are related. Chapter Eight, Is Bigfoot an Alien?, presents several cases of this type and asks the question, what exactly is the connection between extraterrestrials and Bigfoot? An analysis of the cases reveals some surprising answers.
Chapter Nine, The Truth Behind Alien Anal Probes, is a comprehensive inside look into a very touchy and delicate aspect of the onboard UFO examination. This particular subject has been the butt of many humorous jokes, and yet for those who are forced to undergo the procedure, it is utterly serious. These cases reveal an area of UFO research that has often been ridiculed but rarely analyzed.
In many cases, people have been shown the engine room of a UFO. In some of these cases, the ETs have explained precisely how their engines work. In the rarest type of these cases, people have used the information they learned to actually build their own free energy motor. The tenth and final chapter, If You Build It, explores these types of cases and reveals a hidden ET agenda that has the potential to change the entire world.
Ten new and unique areas of UFO research are presented here in book-form for the very first time, each with their own contribution to give, adding to our understanding of extraterrestrial contact. Supported by firsthand accounts from across the United States and the world, stretching from early history to the present day, the cases in this book reveal a dazzling complexity and depth to the UFO phenomenon. So come along on a journey that is sure to forever change the way you feel about UFOs.
Here's an excerpt of Chapter Ten:
Chapter Ten
If You Build It
Most UFO researchers agree that UFOs represent a technology superior to our own. Their craft perform better than ours in nearly every respect. They fly faster and higher and are able to maneuver in ways far beyond the ability of our own aircraft.
Much research has been conducted into UFO propulsion. The most popular theory is that UFOs are able to tap into the electromagnetic field surrounding our planet, or are using some sort of anti-gravity device.
In addition, there are now scores of whistleblowers claiming that the U.S. government has not only obtained crashed UFOs, but is actively reverse-engineering them, and in some cases, allegedly flying them around in such locations as Area 51 in Nevada and Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio.
Unfortunately, these reports are largely unsubstantiated, and the average citizen has no access to this technology, which continues to be actively covered-up. The ETs may be aware of this, as it seems that they are taking their own steps to get this information out.
When someone is taken onboard a UFO, the most common experience (according to several researchers) is being physically examined. Following that, the most common procedure is being given some type of message, usually warnings of ecological or environmental disaster, messages involving healing or spirituality, and finally--and most importantly here--information about alternative energy sources.
In fact, in many cases, the ETs not only impart information about alternative energy, they sometimes take the amazed witness on a tour of the engine room, and then proceed to explain how their engines actually work! This alone is amazing enough. Even more remarkable is that some of these witnesses return from their experiences not only with a comprehension of how the UFOs fly around, but are inspired to try and build their own “free-energy” UFO-engine.
As preposterous as this sounds, there are now enough cases on record to merit a serious investigation. Take the following case from longtime researcher Jacques Vallee.
Writes Vallee, “My first meeting with the woman I shall call Helen took place after she called to tell me about a particular motor she wanted to build…she told me she was bent on solving the energy crisis by building a new type of engine.”
Helen told Vallee that her obsession with building this motor was triggered by an abduction experience. Around 3:00 a.m. one morning in the summer of 1968, Helen and three friends were driving from Lompoc to Los Angeles in California when they saw a “white light” appear on the horizon. As it got closer, the light began to turn at right angles and dart around at high speed. Helen and the others talked excitedly when suddenly it came right toward them. Says Helen, “It came up over the car and in front of us, maybe 100 to 200 feet above the ground, and it was, I would say, about six lanes of the freeway in width. It was white, and it showed a very beautiful kind of glow. I seem to remember some kind of windows, but I really couldn’t be sure. It didn’t make any noise.”
Without warning, the craft emitted four conical beams of light, with one striking Helen, and the other three targeting her friends. Helen recalled being sucked up into the ship while her physical body remained in the car. The next thing she knew, she was being returned to the car along with her friends in the same manner.
Later she underwent regressive hypnosis. Writes Vallee, “During that session, she remembered going on board the ‘saucer’ and observing its propulsion mechanism. She met a man dressed in white, who showed her the amazing motor she is now determined to build.”
Vallee interviewed Helen’s friends and confirmed the incident. Ultimately he remains skeptical of the ET theory and the motor. “It has become a central point for her,” he writes, “the goal of her entire life. Yet the motor she wants to build could never run, physically, at least in the way she explains it.”
Despite Vallee’s skepticism, several cases have surfaced in which people have, in fact, built such motors, with some very interesting results.
In 1988, horror novelist Whitley Strieber stunned the world with his revelation that he was a UFO abductee. He wrote a series of books about his experiences, which began as a young child and have continued his entire life. Strieber only became aware of his experiences as an adult, following a particular dramatic encounter in his home in upstate New York. Following the incident, he examined his life and discovered a lifetime of contact.
He located a childhood friend who reminded him about the time Strieber had built an engine based on instructions from the ETs. Writes Strieber, “When we were thirteen I apparently announced to him that ‘spacemen’ had taught me how to build an antigravity machine, which I was constructing in my bedroom. This was in the summer of 1958. I do not remember the genesis of the machine, but I certainly remember building it. There was no magic to the thing; it was only an assembly of electromagnets taken from old motors. The supposed antigravity effect was based on a principal of counterrotation.”
Despite the engine’s simplicity, the machine had a remarkable effect. Writes Strieber, “When I plugged my assemblage in, there was a great buzzing, the electromagnet at the core of the thing whirled madly, and the lights in the house began to pulsate. The whole thing whined and fluttered. There were showers of sparks. Parental cries of alarm rose from downstairs. As the machine destroyed itself the pulsation of the lights became a dimming, until the bulbs glowed orange-red. Then they burst to blazing life, a good number of them blowing out in the process.”
Strieber pulled the plug and ran downstairs in fear. He told nobody except his friend. The next day, still unnerved by the incident, he was “seized with a fierce urge to get away from the house.” He went to his grandmother’s home in the country.
That afternoon, Strieber’s bedroom caught fire and burned down that wing of the house, an event he blames on his antigravity machine.
Strieber later discovered that other abductees have experienced similar obsessions with building antigravity engines. He writes of man who was given “detailed instructions about how to build a motor of this sort.”
The case is remarkably similar to his own and others. Writes Strieber, “The man was given the instructions during an abduction experience during the fifties, and claims that he was told that he wouldn’t remember a thing until 1985, when he suddenly found his mind full of richly detailed plans. The exact sizes of the electromagnets and their distances from one another were explained, and there was much about the materials to be used. Not having seen these plans, I cannot evaluate them other than to comment that the idea that counterrotating magnets of any kind would produce any unusual energies at all flies in the face of modern magnetic theory. But he claims that when he built this device, all the metal objects in his barn were instantly pulled toward it and he was knocked out by a flying automobile engine. The next day the barn burned down to the ground in an unexplained fire.”
Another case comes from leading UFO abduction researcher, Yvonne Smith CHt…
